Elle Curley-Jackson & Eva Leong-Casey: Jewelry & Metalsmithing Foundations Workshop/ Open Studio Series Wednesdays, 5-7 pm Feb. 6th - March 13th Instructed Workshops with Elle: Feb. 6th, 20th & March 6th Facilitated Open Studio with Eva: Feb. 13th, 27th & March 13th Learn basic jewelry making and metal smithing techniques to create your own unique bracelet or earrings. Three sessions (Feb. 6th, 20th & Mar. 6th) will be instructed by Elle Curley-Jackson to teach the techniques/steps necessary to complete your creation in a variety of metals, and three sessions will be facilitated by Eva Leong-Casey as practice sessions/open studio time for jewelry making and finishing projects.

Silk Painting Workshop Silk Painting Workshop Instructor: Claudia Fluegge Sunday, October 7th, 11am - 2pm Cost: $40 Registration and Pre-payment required. Painting on silk is a playful and colorful adventure. If you have never tried it, this is your chance to take an excellent class with the accomplished instructor and artist Claudia Fluegge. Claudia has won numerous national awards for her silk painting work and currently exhibits at Weems Gallery in Albuquerque. Class participants will start by stretching a white piece of silk over a frame. Then Claudia will lead you through an exploration of basic silk painting techniques such as salting, outlining, and applying dyes with a paintbrush. Usually there is enough time to make two pieces. Finished pieces must be steamed to fix the dyes. Claudia will charge $2 per piece if you would like her to do the steaming for you. If you have previously taken this class, she would love to have you back to do more painting. Space is limited to 12 people, so call 247-1172 to register and pre-pay now! OFFCenter will be open during a special time JUST FOR KIDS! Kids' Open Studio Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm June 19th - July 26th OFFCenter will be open just for kids during the above times. Kids 15 and under can have full rein of the studio and its materials to create artwork in the medium of their choice! No need to make a reservation, just show up any or all of the days starting June 19th through July 26th.
