Thursday 7/22/21 on the #FTTE Forum: the state of XR in education

...hosted by @BryanAlexander on Shindig

Greetings, Future Trends Forum friends!

This week we'll explore the cutting edge of augmented, virtual, and mixed reality, in the company of the education world's leading experts.  On Thursday, July 22nd, from 2-3 pm EDT, we'll be joined by Maya Georgieva and Emory Craig, founders and principals of Digital Bodies, and co-authors of a new report, iLRN's State of XR 2021.
Maya Georgieva is an EdTech strategist, author, and speaker with more than 15 years of experience in higher education. Maya is the Director, Digital Learning at The New School, where she leads innovation in the design of technology-enhanced learning and VR, AR, and Mixed Reality initiatives. She works to engage the community and provide strategic leadership in creating an institutional culture and capacity for innovative design with emerging technologies.
Emory Craig has 25 years of experience as an innovator and leader in the creative industries and higher education. He is currently the Director of eLearning at The College of New Rochelle, with responsibility for a wide range of technology initiatives. A Frye Fellow and frequent keynote speaker, he has written and presented extensively at both national and international conferences on innovation in the education, corporate and nonprofit sectors.
Emory and Maya have also been brilliant and in-demand Forum guests in 20202019, and 2018.

I plan on asking Maya and Emory about what the iLRN report reveals about the reality of XR in higher education.  What are the best use cases? What should we expect from the technology over the next academic year?

More importantly, you will have the chance to ask your own questions. After all, the way the Forum works is that all attendees can ask our guests questions, engage and collaborate with other leaders in education technology, and also invite friends and colleagues to join.

#FTTE Forum 10/17/2019: an experimental #news panel with Maria Anderson

Greetings, Future Trends Forum friends!

This week we're experimenting with a new Forum approach, a panel exploring the latest news for signals of higher education's future.  On Thursday, October 17th, from 2-3 pm EDT, we'll be joined by Maria Anderson, math professor, futurist, entrepreneur, and previous Forum guest
Maria is the principal consultant at Edge of Learning and the CEO and Cofounder of Coursetune, an edtech company that builds curriculum design, management, visualization, and collaboration software.

Previously, Maria has been the Director of Learning and Research for Instructure. For ten years she taught mathematics as well as chemistry and social media  full-time at Muskegon Community College.  She was also the Learning Futurist for the LIFT Institute.

And, as always, you will have the chance to ask your own questions. After all, the way the Forum works is that all attendees can ask our guests questions, engage and collaborate with other leaders in education technology, and also invite friends and colleagues to join.
