…iCreate's Albuquerque Music Outreach partner offers studio space, workshops, free and at cost arts, crafts, music and other classes

OFFCenter will be open during a special time JUST FOR KIDS! Kids' Open Studio Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm June 19th - July 26th OFFCenter will be open just for kids during the above times. Kids 15 and under can have full rein of the studio and its materials to create artwork in the medium of their choice! No need to make a reservation, just show up any or all of the days starting June 19th through July 26th.  All kids must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Sewing and Design Tutorial Series now enrolling for a new 4 part series in July  Sewing and Design Tutorial with Becky Johnson Wednesdays July 25 & August 1, 1-3 pm. Fee: $30 for the 4 class series Students must pay and register in advance and bring their own working sewing machine! You can use one of OFFCenter's sewing machines but their operating condition cannot be guaranteed... This class will be an open tutorial for those new to needle and thread, up to sewers interested in creating their own designs. Classes will include clothing repair, care and alteration. Students are encouraged to bring projects and questions. A simple sewing project will be available. If you are interested in this class please call 247-1172 to register - class limited to 4 people. Becky has 40+ years of sewing experience and holds a Certificate in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, 1988; She has exhibited in Magnifico! and the New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair and owns Flying Carpet Design Studio.) Summer Jewelry Open Studio Rings by Tony Chino Jewelry/Metalsmithing Open Studio Saturdays: July 28, Aug 4 & 18, noon-2 pm Jewelry and Metalsmithing students, Eva Leong Casey will be hosting a Jewelry and Metalsmithing open studio between noon and 2pm on Saturdays every 2 weeks through the summer for students (from past OFFCenter Jewelry/Metalsmithing classes) to practice and share knowledge with each other. This opportunity is intended for those with basic knowledge of the metalsmithing techniques taught in our Jewelry and Metalsmithing series so if you are interested please drop in and join the fun! No reservation required but prior experience is needed to attend.... WOMYN'S Apron Making Workshops Apron Making Workshops Saturdays: July 14th and 28th and August 4th and 11th from 10:00 am -Noon. BE PART OF THE APRON PROJECT! -- JOIN US FOR AN APRON WORKSHOP -- SPEAK OUT ABOUT WOMEN'S ISSUES BY PUTTING YOUR MESSAGE ON AN APRON TO BE DISPLAYED IN THE 2013 WOMYM'S APRON PROJECT INSTALLATION.  AND/OR help make aprons to sell at the "We Art The People!" Folk Art Festival (Sun., Sept. 9th) to help raise money for installation expenses. These free workshops are open to women who have sewing experience. Materials provided. If you have your own portable sewing machine, you may bring it. FREE. YOU MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND and you may register for as many classes as you would like, but we think you can create your apron in 2 sessions.
