…and a call from garden manager for volunteers to weed and water, plus video just for lagniappe. NB: video (obviously) not of the Mountainair Community Garden, but at least about desert gardening.
The garden is looking good and the watering system seems to be keeping it that way. Some hand-watering needs to be done, particularly on and between the tire planters. And we need to give the herbs a break from watering a couple days a week by turning the "gate" on that hose off and then back on.
"Tom, the weed guy" has weed-whacked out front of the garden, but the vacant lot to the west is growing up in kochia. As soon as it rains, maybe there can be a weed-pulling day to keep the seeds out of our territory. The beds can always be weeded, too.
I mention all this because I will be gone for the remainder of July and all of August. If everybody can just keep checking on the schedule we set up for June and working whenever there is time, we will have something to share starting in August and September.
Take care everyone, Joan
Nice tips of garden maintenance i'll surely try this in my home garden.
