#FTTE Forum Thurs 8/9/18…#HAXtheweb & edu too w/ @btopro aka Bryan Ollendyke

…@BryanAlexander writes:

Greetings, Forum friends, this week we will explore a new technology for learning, one with a lot of potential.  Thursday, August 9th, at 2 pm EST, Bryan OllendykeProgrammer/Analyst  and the creator of HAX joins us on the podium for an interactive discussion on the HAX project

Bryan O. has worked in Penn State's Office of Digital Learning since 2007.  He is a founding member of the local Drupal @ Penn State community and a leading voice in using Drupal for Education Technology in the larger Drupal community. He often speaks on topics of Open Education, the future of information technology, and Drupal best practices. Bryan has presented at Campus Technology, SLOAN, Dozens of Drupalcamps, Designs on e-Learning, and Open Ed.

HAX is a new and original digital content authoring tool.  It lives within the open source ELMS Learning Network (ELMSLN), also created by Ollendyke,  allowing creators to smoothly integrate content and communications across multiple sites and services.  ELMS has won two Innovator of the Year awards from Campus Technology (2010, 2011).
For more background there is a white paper on HAX, an EDUCAUSE blog post on HAX and the New Generation Digital Learning Environment, and a comparison between HAX and Roku.

I plan on asking Bryan about just how HAX works.  I'm curious about how non-technie faculty and staff can use it, and its relationship to open education.

More importantly, you will have the chance to ask your own questions. After all, the way the Forum works is that all attendees can ask our guests questions, engage and collaborate with other leaders in education technology, and also invite friends and colleagues to join.
